In Vancouver, it’s harder to build social housing than million dollar homes. OneCity Councillor Christine Boyle wants to change that. Her motion will make it easier for non-profit and co-op housing providers to build the kind of housing that more of us can actually afford, in more neighbourhoods of the city. Not requiring costly spot rezonings on every project would save community housing providers time and money, so they can deepen affordability and provide more homes for people who need them
